At Baluleni Safari Lodge we take great care to minimize the chance of a Covid 19 infection. We have implemented a strict protocol in accordance with regulations and ask the assistance of our guests in adhering to this.

 

Should a guest show signs or be flagged as a potential COVID-19 case please inform our reception before arriving at Baluleni.  All guests will have to sign an affidavit confirming their clean health status and confirmation of no contact with COVID-19 infected individuals as well as confirming not to have travelled to a high risk area during the previous 14 days.

 

Please don't be offended if our friendly staff doesn't greet you with a handshake. And their smiles will be hidden by a mask. Our staff will ask you to wear masks in public areas and show you the ever present hand sanitizers.

 

Temperature screening and the recording of that data will be conducted daily on all guests. Should a guest show signs of COVID-19 infection, lodge management staff will follow the recommendations on what to do in accordance with SA Government and W.H.O guidelines.

 

We have direct access to a doctor on call should a guest develop symptoms while visiting us.  Separate isolation rooms will be made available for suspect cases and the necessary course of action to follow will be guided by our emergency medical consultants. Health care facilities are easily accessible should a guest need to be hospitalized.

 

Daily detailed health screening as well as temperature checks will be implemented for all staff.    Al staff recreational, accommodation and work areas will have educational material to keep staff aware of hygiene protocols. Supplementary training relevant to the current situation regarding safe food handling and service practices will be conducted for all food handling staff. At least one person trained as a hygiene manager responsible for ensuring adherence to the new operational guidelines will be on duty. Protocols will be monitored by the risk management manager

 

 Social distancing protocols will be implemented in the dining areas with tables set apart from each other.

 

The number of guests per safari vehicle will not exceed 6 people

 

Most meals and snacks including game drives will be individually prepared and plated under strict hygiene standards.

 

Sanitizing   

 

Extensive and enhanced cleaning and disinfecting procedures will be carried out in all rooms and shared spaces   

 

Alcohol-based sanitizer (70%) will be available on game vehicles & in public spaces

 

After check out rooms will be completely deep cleaned and sanitized. In order to limit contact your room will only be entered by cleaning staff upon you request.
